Our courses are designed to be as interactive as possible, allowing participants, young or old, to learn and develop their navigation, map reading and compass skills out in the open. We are flexible with our delivery and will adapt to the needs of the individual or group.
Whether you are an individual looking at improving your map skills, a young person preparing for your DofE Expedition, a mainstream or SEND school looking for support with DofE Training. SENavigation can help you on your journey.

Navigate the South-East with SENavigation’s map reading courses. Gain skills, confidence, and adventure in the great outdoors.
National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) The NNAS provides courses at three levels, bronze, silver and gold.
The Bronze Award is the foundation level, giving basic navigational skills in a lowland environment. Once completed, you will be able to read a map and confidently use a compass.
The Silver Award teaches the more technical aspects required for navigating more open countryside and moorland.
The Gold Award develops you skills even further and teaches how to rely on the compass, contours and features.
All courses are run over two days.
In addition to the above Outdoor Discovery Award is designed for younger children with no experience of maps or how to use them. There are three levels that start to build confidence and understanding.
