Who

Designed for children and young people who have no experience of maps.

What

The day includes indoor and outdoor activities (dependant on weather), all of which generate an understanding of maps

How

Informal activities to engage the young people and gives them the skills to create and use a map

One Star

One star starts with the young people drawing maps of a room or playground. They then draw a route which they share for others to follow.

This is a half day activity

Two Star

The two star award moves out of a classroom environment such as a local park. They then look at a map, understand distance and time.

This is a half day activity

Three Star

The three star goes another step further, consolidating what they have already learnt and will follow a more difficult routes in larger parks.

This is a full day activity
